Darrian Gerard: A Rising Force In Pop-Rock

    Darrian Gerard-2

Darrian Gerard is a singer/songwriter from a small town in on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. She plays the guitar, bass, piano, and drums and is heavily influenced by Avril Lavigne, blink-182, Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette, and Angels & Airwaves. As an independent artist, she sings, writes, plays the instruments, records, and produces all of her music.

Her latest single, Festival, was written when she was living in Australia. At the festival, she remembers being a bit intoxicated, watching an artist perform their set with their band. At one point, she realized she didn’t want to be the drunk girl standing in the crowd anymore, she wanted to be the one playing on stage. This song was a turning point and a realization for Darrian that if she didn’t go for her dream in music and take that massive leap, she would forever be the one in looking up in the crowd rather than the one looking out at everyone on stage. Festival is a vulnerable piece that she is eager to share with the world. As a fun, upbeat, inspirational indie-pop-rock song originally wrote on an acoustic guitar, she strongly believes it could also help others who just need that push to aid them in going for their dreams, too. She wrote, recorded, and produced this song in the comfort of her home using a few guitars, a bass, midi keyboard, and a whole lot of heart.
