Elijah Akeem-2

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself? (

My name is Elijah Akeem,Elijah is my actual name.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

My father is a DJ,Producer and Engineer and I was inspired by seeing him make music and I followed in his footsteps

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

My new project “Midnight Masqurade” is a project that I made while I was in a fall/winter season state of mind. It’s based on the concept of just living life to the fullest.

What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?

What makes my music unique is the ability to use trap style drums with melodic keys and use different rap patterns with harmony.

Do you play any instruments? And why do you love it?

Yes I mostly play the keyboard and drum pads but I’m also practicing guitar as well. I love using the keyboard because of its versatility ,being able to use it to emulate almost any instrument such as grand Piano, strings, brass, etc.

How is your creative process when recording music? And what makes a good recording session?

I usually start the process in my studio room with a good melody or drum pattern then I start freestyling over it to get a flow style down . I record best when I’m in the studio with myself or very few people around in the beginning stages of the song.

Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

Some my biggest influences are the Neptunes,Timbaland,J cole,etc..basically any Artist who makes their own beats and also makes beats for others as well because I’m a producer at heart.

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

I’d say being able to reach over 100,000 plays for my EP “Heatin’ Up” on soundcloud was a very big moment for me in my career.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

That’s a good question,I usually have a divide as evenly as I can. I’m lucky to have people around me who understand music a serious passion of mine. Sometimes I get flack for being a workaholic but at the end of the day I still balance things out

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

I would tell them to never give up on their dreams no matter what anyone says, and also not to take anything personal in the music industry.

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

I want to tell my fans thank you for their support of me and my music ,also that I have more great music to come.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects or tours?

As of now I dropped the album and I’m going work my next project then I’ll be setting up tour dates early winter/spring. It will be a nice catalog of music that I’ll be able to perform for my fans.
