Kinesus is ready to release his new album ‘Retrogram’

Kinesus creates a powerful piece of work on “When Stars Collide” as a sonic adventure of rare emotional clarity. The  music expands on itself, forming steady sequences that the human brain can just about process. The artist uses rhythms and pattern modulation to pry open atmospheric sounds and scatter the components into new shapes that are dazzling. The Las Vegas based producer makes his knack for impossible genre combinations feel like a roller coaster. At moments like these, he feels wonderfully alive. The apparent studiousness and attention he gives “Tomorrow Goes On” intends to make bodies move in unpredictable ways and make the emotions in your heart flow.

The music he produces tends to feel unrestrained and unaffected by outside forces. “Journey Beyond” let’s you attend to your body’s sensations as you ride the wave, so you can disregard any nagging thoughts or memories. It’s a tightly coiled spring of hard thumping drums and percussion, a steady bassline and dabs of electronic melody which become so distinctive that the rhythm is itchily intense, its rhythmic vigor playing off against the main progression and builds up into an electrical frenzy. It only becomes more diffuse, the edges between synthesizer, piano, strings and bass steadily softening, as though worn away by erosion.

For any fan of electronic music, this is everything that they could ever wish for, something that is self-contained and self sufficient. It charges up the air with subtle rhythms and develops within you a palpable, self-conscious awareness of watching a genre evolve in real time, and we are glad Kinesus is part of it. His music flies through ideas and builds with purposeful progression, and it only gets better once the initial thrills start to sink into your mind and you learn its trajectory. And the good thing is that more music is on the way as Kinesus is currently hard at work readying the release of his debut album ‘Retrogram’ which is due out in July, 2020.
