Music Interview: Eva Constance on her passion for music & debut single “Selfish”

    Eva Constance-2

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself.

Hello, my name is Eva Constance. My hometown is Hartford, Connecticut but I reside in South Florida. Eva means living or life, and Constance means constant, so together I put it as living life constantly.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

Ever since I was younger, I dreamed of being a musical artist and performer. My real name is Chanteuse Green and I learned later in life that my first name Chanteuse meant nightclub singer and from that moment on, it confirmed that the music world was where I was meant to be.

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

My newest debut single is called “Selfish” and I am super excited for everyone to hear it. I’ve worked so hard the last two years, kind of starting over, learning things, and making a new image for myself. The story behind “Selfish” is about wanting to be around that special someone or something so much that it ends up turning bad for you in multiple ways. Making sure that you take time away from other people and things is all about moderation and having time to yourself. There’s a saying that states having too much of anything is not good for you and based on my past experiences with people and things, I believe in that saying a lot.”

What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?

I would say when it comes to my music, I have a mix of Pop and R&B in one big ass pot stirring shit up.

How do you balance your music with other obligations –family, friends or work?

Most people do not know this, but I am a certified nursing assistant and I also work with clients that have behavioral and mental complications.  So, by day I am that, and on my days off and outside of work, I am another person, Eva Constance. It’s kind of like I live a double life. Once I do decide to share it with new friends and co-workers, they are shocked because I am honestly a quiet and reserved individual. It can be hard to balance both, especially when you have interviews, press conferences, calls, video shoots, photo shoots, etc. It can be messy but I try to stay as organized with it as best I can. I am only one person so it’s imperative I stay organized.

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

I thank you all for supporting me and helping me through difficult times, I took a break for myself, but just know I am back with a lot to offer so stick with me. I love you all.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?

Over the past 6 months I’ve been working on a lot of new music, and that’s what’s coming up next for me. I am also going to be putting out more music videos in the future, including the “Selfish” music video.
