    Mia Grace-2

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself.

Hey, I’m Mia Grace, i’m 22 years old and i’m from New York/New Jersey but I live in Los Angeles California

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

I just remember my whole life revolving around music since I was little. My parents were in the business, my mom a manager, my dad a singer, rapper and producer. My grandparents played instruments. My brothers and I all make music. It was a very big part of my childhood.

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

I’ve been planning on releasing music for 5 years and have around 4 albums and over 200 songs under my belt but I kept struggling with perfecting that first debut song and branding myself. Since I was young I just kept changing, it felt like I couldn’t keep up with myself. So this single is really special to me, I wrote the whole song one night and was obsessed with it ever since. I have another song I was going to release first but am waiting until the top of the new year because it’s super fun and upbeat and it feels strange releasing that type of music during a pandemic you know? So “Stuck” is a complete vibe for all types of moods and I feel it’s a great transition from summer to fall and the new year. The lyrics are versatile and the production is lush and ethereal overall it’s just a really feel good and captivating sound.

What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?

I would describe it as pop, r&b fusion with some flares of latin and hip hop. I just recently started singing really rhythmically to where it sounds like I’m rapping. Hehehe i’m not a rapper though. You can really hear where I come from as far as my family background.

Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

My dad of course inspires me alot because of the way he was able to blend so many different things in such a great way! I loved that he exposed me to so many different genres and I love his writing style. I also would say my biggest influencers are Aaliyah and Minnie Riperton, in my head I’m always combining their styles even when I pick out my clothes. I would love to collaborate with Frank Ocean, that’s definitely a dream of mine!

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

This release to be honest! I’m just going for it wholeheartedly going for it! Another would probably be meeting Brandy and singing for her! We did some runs together and she actually took photos with me on her phone and sent them to me, she is so sweet and genuine. Meeting her was insane. She’s like an angel!

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

I wake up early. It’s tough sometimes but I enjoy being productive before noon. My friends and family understand, they’re also busy too! A Lot of my friends do what I do and we help each other. Our version of hanging out is often just working together!

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Be different and do it. Do everything, do it all !! Also support your friends man. Friends are everything

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

This is kind of like be yourself but better, be your own role model. For real, when you think of it that way you become the best version of yourself for yourself and your life turns into everything you want it to be!

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?
