Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please introduce yourself. Thank you for the feature. I go by Prynce P and I own a Hip-Hop label in Dallas, Texas entitled Pohectic Life Records.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path? I have always loved music. Many members in my family are musicians. I remember back in high school, we used to gather around parties and just have dope free-style sessions. Obviously, things were much different back in the 90’s with no social media or smart phones to record us, but I mainly chose music because to me, music is self-therapy and it connects us globally.

Tell us about your new single and the story behind it? Who all feature in it? My new project is entitled “Rudolf – The Triple D Remix.” As you know, 2020 has not been the best year for most, thus, I wanted to create something fun to uplift peoples spirits. The features are Keynote of The Bodega Brovas, Microphone Lewis and Bubba of Loyal Sally, Motian, Eclipse Darkness, IQ Muzic and yours truly. It was also produced by Cloak Beats and co-produced by Billy Syn at The Valley of the Kings Studio. I also want to give a big shout out to my favorite female audio engineer, Vani Music at Audio Dallas.

What makes your music unique? How would you describe it? We have content and a purpose for each project. Pohectic (name of my label) stands for hectic poetry. My single “My Paradise” won me 4 awards for my contribution to humanity. The music video to my single “My Apology” directed by Nima T won an award from The American Indian Film Festival. My single “The Triple D Cypher” is still one of the biggest cyphers out of Dallas to this day. For me, it has always been quality over quantity. I may only release 2 projects a year, but I also put 200% into each one.

Who are your biggest musical influences? Who are some big features who you have collaborated with thus far? Some of my musical influences are Nas, DMX, Ludacris, Scarface, Queen, Nirvana and Metallica to name a few. I have also been fortunate enough to collaborate with Texas favorites like Paul Wall, Lil Flip, K-Rino, Big Tuck, Headkrack, Mr. Pookie and Mr. Lucci along with Hip-Hop legends like Spice 1 and Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

What is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of? Not to brag but there are so many. I did a song for Chuck Norris’s fighting show in the early 2000’s. I have won many awards from Amnesty International, The House of Representatives and the amazing Congresswoman Johnson, but, featuring my grandfather (RIP) on a project and for him to see himself on TV has to be my proudest moment. It truly made my family happy and to me, no money in the world can buy this feeling.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work? It has not been easy. I am also a Data Scientist, an investor in Real Estate, a world traveler and someone who runs a music label. The only way that I can balance all of this is to take short naps and not to fully sleep haha.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians? Be authentic

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be? I LOVE YOU and thank you for the steady support!!!!
