Music Review: Jeuse Kastoan – Drunk Textin

Music Review Jeuse Kastoan - Drunk Textin

Jeuse Kastoan is reasonable with his laid-back approach to delivering rhythmic melodic lines. As a young artist it’s no surprise he’s foundational style serves him best in creating a piece of music thats unique and original. It’s sort of like a weird trippy drug-induced trap without all the hyper-glossy additions of mainstream music.

On “Drunk Textin” the rapper tries to emotionally and sonically connect with the listener, narrating of how he texts women while drunk but doesn’t give a damn about the outcome. It’s all over the place, cohesive at its least but the song has a strange and unforgettable vibe to it.

The song is patient in sound—a hollow, dribbling synth—accompanied by its fun thrill-seeking message. For listeners who are accustomed to honey-drip music “Drunk Textin” will surely be a surprise as it decidedly wants to be freaky and becoming a kaleidoscope of styles.

Jeuse Kastoan becomes one of the first few artists with bubbling potential, and here on this song “Drunk Textin” he relentlessly pushes his own identity, adeptly shifting styles and tempos to suit.

The effect is of simultaneous humility and confidence. Only thing remaining is for the artist to come up with a full project maybe an EP or better yet an album if he has enough to surprise potential fans. Jeuse Kastoan is a diamond in the rough, most likely reminding me of the hip hop duo Taylor Girlz with their hit track “Wedgie” right before they hit popularity.
