Olaf Piejak delves on his creative tastes, music influences & upcoming music

Olaf Piejak-2

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself.

I am Olaf Piejak but i’m better know as Aston Low, music producer and DJ from Poland

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

There are so many reasons that fingers are missing on the hands :). More seriously, it is my means of expressing myself. I love to use a certain mood and sit down to music production and collaborating with people who feel the vibe I do. The sense of pride in each song gradually builds up, especially at the present moment.

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

At the moment it is a minor secret that I will not elaborate on except for a few simple explanations. I released an EP at the end of June and now I’m headed for the climax of my career – a very personal song and a music video produced by a hired crew. I would like to reveal more, but it may only be after the premiere.

What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?

It’s hard to say if my music is unique when we looking at the world. First of all, it makes me happy, and for some time my style has been subject to a huge amount of experiments, both genre and linguistic (bilingual works). I have always been fascinated by progressive house, but I do not shy away from combinations in other genres.

Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

Definitely the biggest musical role model for me is nicky romero. For some time, however, I have been open to collaboration, primarily with Polish singers.

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

The moment when a few thousand people went on stage during the event in Warsaw was that moment. an even better moment, however, was to look at the hundreds of smiles on the faces of people in front of the stage, this is magic.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

Currently, ironically, the lack of this balance has led to the greatest musical success. Just when I find inspiration or an evening off, I create it. When I find myself in an extreme hole or in trouble, I also make music. Critical moments in private life are, in a way, the sources of success.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Most simple and important thing – NEVER GIVE UP !

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

This year was hard, but what I created compensates for all the pain I had to go through.

What’s next for you?

I would gladly cheat, but I think that a sweet surprise will be a better solution.
