Founded just a few months ago, Patchwork is Ottawa’s newest up and coming indie-pop group. Consisting of vocalist Melanie Gridley alongside guitarists Simon Amirault and Taylor Brooks, the band is a trio of friends who are ready to share their stories with the world.
Fresh off a live performance back in March, their highly anticipated debut single, Used to You, is set to hit streaming platforms at midnight on July 1st. Beginning with a soft acoustic guitar, the track then progresses by combining Melanie Gridley’s electrifying vocals with a hard-hitting bass and electric guitar that is sure to get your heart pumping. An upbeat and sassy break-up track that will have you singing along with every line, this song tells the story of one of the group’s members’ recent heartbreaks.
The song’s fast-paced, it’s loud and is an excellent introduction into a band who’s just getting started.
