Saweetie and P-Lo Join Forces with the San Francisco 49ers in 'Do It For The Bay'

In anticipation of the San Francisco 49ers’ playoff journey, Saweetie and P-Lo dropped their latest track, “Do It For The Bay,” crafted in collaboration with the iconic football team. This musical venture is a testament to the 49ers’ commitment to embracing the vibrant talent within the Bay Area, as they join forces with two artists, Saweetie and P-Lo, whose names resonate not just locally but on a national scale, all while staying deeply connected to their roots.

Allie Dicken, the Senior Director of Brand Marketing for the San Francisco 49ers, expressed gratitude towards these Bay Area luminaries, stating, “We’re grateful to iconic Bay Area artists and 49ers Faithful, Saweetie and P-Lo, for creating a song that celebrates our team and gives The Faithful a new song for their gameday soundtracks.” Dicken emphasized the significance of being based in a region thriving with talent, diversity, and innovation, and lauded Saweetie and P-Lo for encapsulating these values in the new anthem for The Bay.

Grammy-nominated artist Saweetie, hailing from Santa Clara, shared her excitement about the collaboration, stating, “I’m excited to share our new 49ers single designed to hype up the team and The Faithful for this playoffs run! I want to thank the 49ers organization for this opportunity. Shout out to P-Lo for doing what he does. I love that we were able to collaborate and make something that’s so Bay-triotic, as P-Lo would say.”

P-Lo, the Bay Area rapper, producer, and devoted supporter of local sports teams, expressed gratitude to the 49ers for their commitment to bridging sports and Bay Area culture. He highlighted the opportunity to release music with Saweetie, emphasizing their shared passion for the 49ers and the chance to unite in expressing their pride for The Bay.

The anthem pays homage to the 49ers and the Faithful, serving as a rallying cry for the region during a pivotal moment for the organization. Notably, P-Lo’s attire in the music video is a nod to the 49ers’ home at Levi’s® Stadium, with his outfit provided entirely by Levi’s®, adding a touch of authenticity to the production.

Switching gears, Saweetie was recently spotted in high spirits at Natalia Bryant’s 21st birthday celebration in West Hollywood. Sporting a new hairstyle featuring bangs and long locks, Saweetie, accompanied by the stunning Winnie Harlow, enjoyed the festivities at the celeb hotspot Ysabel. Harlow turned heads in a skintight black dress and matching knee-high boots, exuding a chic and fierce aura.

The event drew A-listers, including Kelly Rowland, Ciara, and Russel Wilson, creating a star-studded affair. Interestingly, this outing follows the news of Saweetie and rapper YG mutually ending their relationship, with sources citing their focus on respective music careers as a contributing factor.

Speculation about Saweetie and YG being a couple began at Coachella in April 2023, with their public confirmation in May of that year. Despite their hot and heavy displays, the recent split suggests that the demands of their music careers may have played a role in the decision. YG’s cryptic Instagram post, featuring a clip of himself with Saweetie, adds an intriguing twist to the narrative, leaving fans speculating about the nature of their relationship.

In contrast to Saweetie’s previous high-profile relationship with Quavo, her connection with YG seemed to fly somewhat under the radar. As the artist navigates the complexities of personal and professional life, the unveiling of “Do It For The Bay” serves as a testament to her ability to channel experiences into creative endeavors, capturing the essence of Bay Area pride in musical form.
