Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

So I’m currently working on a collaborative project with a very close friend. We really wanted to explore some themes that are present in both of our work: toxic relationships and emotional trauma. We won’t exactly be the first to do so, in a way I feel like those themes are the pinnacle of R & B. But I can say that we are bringing our own very unique and signature styles and it will definitely make some waves!

Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

I was just talking about this earlier today. I really enjoy listening to Common, Cole, Jaheim, and Raheem Devaughn. They ground me and my style in a sense. Especially given the fact that I often blend elements of hip-hop and crooning. I’d love the chance to collaborate with any of them of course but in terms of my contemporaries: Megan Thee Stallion and Smino would probably take the cake. I am pretty interested in working with Doja Cat as well though.

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

If you’re anything like me, you’re interested in doing multiple things. Don’t let anyone convince you that you aren’t capable of doing a lot and doing it well. Chart new territory. Life is about the journey not the destination.

Lastly, look out for my collaboration with Tara Kasey on her latest album! (Hers Truly II)
