In this blog post, we mention the best hip hop rap songs by Dababy. At this point, many have accepted Dababy as one of hip-hop’s breakout stars. And while he has since assembled more than a few hits to his name, it’s fair to say that his debut album Baby On Baby served as the launchpad for the outlandish North Carolina rapper.

Bio: Who is Dababy?

Jonathan Lyndale Kirk (born December 22, 1991) aka Dababy was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He and his family relocated to North Carolina when he was just five years old. He had some brushes with the law, but decided to turn his life around in order to take care of his kids and find new direction for his life. Not long after he traded his extracurricular activities in for rap, DaBaby won fans over with his signature deep voice on his debut album, Baby on Baby. His charismatic personality on social media propelled him forward in the industry, as well as on the Billboard charts.

In March 2019, DaBaby pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon after “acting in self-defence” during his involvement with the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man in North Carolina. In January 2020, he was detained, questioned, charged with battery and later released in Miami in connection with a robbery investigation. DaBaby and his crew reportedly jumped and robbed a music promoter who was said to have underpaid him.

DaBaby’s brother, Glen Johnson, died in November 2020 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 34-years-old. DaBaby note on social media at the time, “I would’ve gave up all I had to see you happy,” and changed his Instagram bio to “LONG LIVE MY BROTHER.”

The artist has only been rapping since 2014, and yet, he’s already attracted a large fan base with millions of streams to his hit songs.
