EYTAN Music Interview: New Music & Love For Celine Dion

EYTAN Music Interview-2

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself?

Heya! My Name is Eytan, a born and raised New Yorker!

Any special meaning or significance to your artist/band name?

Yes! Eytan is my jewish name. It means ‘Strong & Steady’.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

To be honest, I’m not really sure how I got ‘into’ it. I think I just connected with music.

I want to say ‘Ace of Base’s, ‘I saw the sign’ was kind of my first song to start singing too. Then picked up singing again in high school. I spent a lot of my teenage years in my basement just singing.

Tell us about your new song? And what’s the story behind it?

My last single was called “Let Love Win”. I love the song, I love the message. In today’s time we need to spread love. There is so much of everything else. Lets let love win!

My newest single will be coming out in July of 2019 and is called ‘Take It Off’. This will be a complete game changer for me as the words are a little raunchier then anything I’ve ever released. It has a very pop/edm sound to it.

What makes your music unique?

I write from the heart. Whether it’s a ballad or a pop dance song, if I’m writing the lyrics I like to be sure that I can connect with song somehow.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

I LOVE ballads. I listened to and still listen to one of my idols, Celine Dion. I do like creating pop/dance songs as well.

Do you play any instruments? And why do you love it?

I used to play the piano when I was young. I forgot how to play and tried picking it up again a few times but for some reason it hasn’t ‘clicked’ yet.

How is your creative process when recording music?

To be honest, if I don’t feel connected with the music it’s difficult for me to write to it. There are times when I like the music but just can’t write to it and it’s okay but when I really feel and connect with a song, the words just come out.

What makes a good recording session?

When all the creative juices are flowing? haha!

Who are your biggest musical influences?

I would have to say Celine Dion, Gad Elbaz, Britney Spears, Maroon 5

Any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

I’ve probably mentioned her a lot in this interview but…YES! Celine Dion. I love her talent and humbleness.

Which are some of the best moments in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

  • Getting to sing with and record a duet with an artist that you loved listening and singing along too when I was younger was absolutely insane.
  • Getting to hear your song play on radio stations while you’re in the car is unreal. Having your songs hit #1 on radio stations.
  • Winning an award or two for your songs.
  • Singing in Central Park twice for the Israeli Day Parade and so much more!

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

I had to make a choice when it came to friends. I had to pull back the reigns from going out as much so I can really devote time and energy to my music.

I still work full time for the family business. This way I can afford to put out videos, music and promotions.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Connect with your fans. Work hard. Work smart. Put your heart into your work.

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

I love you all. Every Message you send. All the love you give my music. I appreciate it so much and hope you will stay a fan forever.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects or tours?

A new song for the summer. Hopefully two. Follow my Instagram for the latest @EytanOfficial!
