Yung Cody TYBG has recently signed on to YungGMusic & Gravity XO for a Promo Deal with 3 other Alabama Artist ( JayGoldz ,Trench Godd & Mikey ). CEO of YungGMusic & Gravity XO , Ike Tanner Said “These Guys are some of the most talented artist I’ve ever met, I listened to their music and all I could think is that this is what the music industry has been missing”.

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself? – Well first off I am Yung Cody TYBG from Modern Day Hippies or MDH, it’s really whatever you wanna call it. We are a hip hop collective that consists of many great talented individuals with one goal in mind..And that is to make it. I have always been a fan of Lil B and that’s where the TYBG comes from in my name. I’m from Opelika, AL.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path? – I have always been a music junkie since I was a kid. I listened to nothing but 90s and 80s hip hop growing up. As long as I had my mp3 player and some headphones I was in my happy state. Michael Jackson was one of my favorites growing up, not to mention Biggie, and the hip hop group Arrested Development. I figured that if they could all become famous artists and such, I could too. They all started from the bottom and stories like that inspire me to become great!

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it? – My most recent EP, which was titled Erntedankfest, was really just music I had stored away. I wasn’t able to record for a long period of time so I decided to release some shit. The name of the EP is actually German, it’s where they have a festival and celebrate fall every year. Dwight from the Office is the one that made me look more into it. He said in one episode “If onlys and justs were candies and nuts then everyday would be Erntedankfest!”. A very epic quote in my opinion.

What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it? – It’s unique because I do what I want with my music. I don’t try to emulate another rapper’s style completely. When I sit down to make a beat or record a song I don’t really plan beforehand, it just happens.

Do you play any instruments? And why do you love it? – No I don’t play any, but I do wanna learn how to play the guitar and piano.

Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future? – Kanye West, Scott Mescudi, Lil B, Tyler, the Creator, etc.. The list goes on, but those are the main people I want to do music with in the future. Me and Lil B currently have a song done. I just need to get it mixed and released.

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of? – Most definitely when Lil B told me he liked my music and that he wanted to collaborate. That’s my idol man and to hear this from him was everything man.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work? – It’s always family first. I do the music when I can but with there being no absolute guarantee that I am gonna blow I have to keep living life. But I always remember to never ever give up on my dreams, that is one of the biggest mistakes you could ever make in life.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians? – Fuck the haters and know who you’re real friends are. Never give up on your dream because if you keep grinding it will pay off trust me. And lastly, always have faith! KEEP THE FAITH!

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be? -MODERN DAY HIPPIES WE UP NEXT BABY! I LOVE ALL MY FANS AND I APPRECIATE THE LOVE AND SUPPORT!

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects? -Well I just recently got my new mic in so yeah new music is coming soon. Already started working on my next LP and focused on my beats & my family. I am also hoping to drop an instrumental EP sometime here in the next couple of weeks.
