Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself?

I’m Nick Dhillon music producer & DJ from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I started of just as a DJ work my way off into music production as a dream.

Any special meaning or significance to your artist?

Well my artist name is based on my nickname, therefore since I was a kid at home everyone used to call me Nick. And Dhillon is a surname.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

I came from a music background whereby I’m led by my father’s footsteps. He was a DJ and event organizer back in the days. Since age of 9 I’ve always wanted to be a music producer and wonder how do music are made and what are the instrument been used. From wondering to research and from research into working on DAW.

Tell us about your new song? And what’s the story behind it?

“Here To Rave” is basically a track I created and wanting to experiment Dubstep sounds into Big Room EDM. Liked Dubstep sounds, hence I tried to make something different.

What makes your music unique?

The experiment on music that I do, makes my music different. In most of my upcoming tracks there will be much more different sounding sounds.

How would you describe the music that you typically creat?

EDM. I’m a big fan of Big Room/PSY-Trance/Electro House/ Moombahton and alil of Indian/Asian elements as well.

What DAW do you use? And why do you love it?

I use FL Studio 20. I love FL Studio is because it’s easy for me to use as I have been using for many years.

How do you work on your music?

I work on many projects. Unfinished projects are many as ideas just come off and you don’t want to lose any ideas that could be a hit someday you just never know so I wouldn’t risk not putting my idea into the DAW.

Where do you get inspiration from?

I get inspiration from brilliant music, any genre, I listen to many. Afrobeat, Reggaeton, Reggae, HipHop, R&B, Latin music, Bollywood, Punjabi music. Anything that suit my ears that will help me grow in music too. That’s what I believe. It’s all about trying something different.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

Definitely Martin Garrix, Hardwell, KSHMR and Armin Van Buuren. They all have brilliant techniques and their ideas and sound design is just something I look up at.

Any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

Any of these names:  Martin Garrix, Hardwell, KSHMR and Armin Van Buuren.

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

I have released a few tracks collaborating artist from Senegal, Canada, UK and Denmark. Its urban track called Don’t Stop Dancing. I have DJ in many countries and states such as Sabah, Langkawi, Ipoh, Johor, Malacca, Seremban, Penang, Kuching (Rainforest Music Festival), and other countries such as, Thailand, Indonesia & Singapore.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

I always believe in balancing as soon as I feel I work on music too long I do other things so that I don’t lose my momentum and inspiration. I’m currently working on many projects but I do always make time for family and friends.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Be different and sound different and lastly never give up.

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

Always keep supporting as your support means everything. There are many tracks to be released in this year. Much love.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects ?

New single and working on my album. There is a lot to come. Stay tune!
