Omen-Ahead-Marionette-EP- 3000x3000 -2

Coming from Athens, Greece, unique EDM music producer, Omen Ahead, unveils ground-breaking and exciting new 5-track EP called “Marionette” narrating the story of a little marionette against its dark bonds. In collaboration with music label Deathstar Cult, he brings the scene a much needed fresh and heavier than ever sound.

The recently released EP is guaranteed to satisfy the music needs of every electronic music enthusiast. It is inspired by many beloved major acts of the dubstep and trap scene, while it maintains a really high degree of originality. It showcases a great balance of melody, bass drops and atmosphere as one finds out by listening.

The first track “Marionette” kicks off with a dreamy piano motif introducing us the little marionette as the hero of the album. As synths take over, we can hear the clicking and turning of the marionette’s parts. Epic orchestral drums, earth-shattering dubstep basses follow and we can only do one thing. Headbang.

Second track, “A Greater Evil” hosts a much darker and chilling approach to piano, synths and cinematic tension. All, of course, are building up to the climax of robotic basses, resonating synths and very rhythmic patterns. Dark moody synth harmonies, old radio vocals and dubstep drops, all nicely put together.

Up next, “Proving Grounds” uses a much wider sound palette, as it hosts exotic and middle eastern-ish melodies and sounds, written in a dark way similar to the whole EP. Enchanting strings drive a strong groove, while we are delighted to hear old school wobbling bass, off beat synths and various ethnic ear candy.

Moving on, “Darkest Hours” leads us into dark paths. We are introduced to melancholic strings, dreamy trance synths and of course, deep bass. All coming together to form a hypnotic groove, before all kinds of wonky bass are dropped on us. Highly influenced by the hybrid trap trends, this one is definitely one of the highlights of the EP.

“Redemption” is the grand finale of the album. With otherwordly, anthem-like vocal chants being the main attraction, it is a unique composition. Dark sonic landscapes, lush synths and epic tribal drums, it concludes very well a very well composed album.
