In 2014, he signed a recording and management contract with Cash Money Records. His 2016 single, “B.E.D.”, was on the Billboard charts for 7 weeks, peaking at number 69. His debut album, 4275, was released on June 15, 2018.

Jacquees has worked with numerous other artists in the genre, including Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Donnell Jones, T.I., Jermaine Dupri,Young Thug and Wale.

1. B.E.D

“B.E.D” was a single released as part Jacquees’ 2016 mixtape Mood. “The ‘B.E.D.’ hook, a piece of it comes from Avant’s ‘Read Your Mind,’ when he said, ‘I know you wanna love,’ he said the same thing,” Jacquees explained to Genius. “Then we took that and we just flipped it. Added some more sauce to it. But Avant is the originator. Big shout out to Avant ’cause he cleared the record. He showed me love.”

Jacquees wrote the song with ForteBowie at Atlanta’s 11th Street studio while Nash B supplied the beat. Jacquees recalled:

“We were vibing. Me and Forte, we were working on some more records, ’cause I think I had just did a song I had on Mood. We were vibing. As soon as I heard the beat, I sung the hook instantly. Me and Forte went and did that part together, ‘I know you wanna love, but I just wanna f–k. And girl you know the deal, I gotta keep it real.’ We did it off the rip and then we came back out of the booth because we go in the booth together and I remember Forte was like, ‘We got to talk some s–t.'”

“At The Club” was released on February 10, 2017. “At the Club” had such success in so small part due to frequent collaborator DeJ Loaf’s smoothly tag-teaming guest vocal. Detroit’s Dej Loaf & Cash Money R&B singer Jacquees teamed up for a new 13-track mixtape called Fuck A Friend Zone, which featured the single “At The Club”.

“You” is a song by American singer Jacquees and is off of the “Before Anythang” soundtrack and was featured on Jacquees and Birdman’s new album, “Lost At Sea 2”. The song details that Jacquees wants to be with his girl, even though she doesn’t have time for him.

“Whenever I write music, especially with this one, it was always somebody on my mind. Always. That’s how I get inspired. That’s how it come out of me. I gotta be honest. I gotta be true. That’s when I make the best music.” says Jacquees.

3. You Belong To Somebody Else ft Dej Loaf

“You Belong To Somebody Else” was released on February 10, 2017. Detroit’s Dej Loaf features on the track as both artists teamed up for a 13-track mixtape called Fuck A Friend Zone.

4. Come Thru ft Rich Homie Quan

The song was released on March 25, 2014. On “Come Thru” Jacquees uses candy metaphors to symbolize the references towards sex and inappropriate activities. Part of his mixtape, Mood, it features rapper Rich Homie Quan as he bursts out some melodies to open the cut.

5. Inside ft Trey Songz

Inside” was released on March 18, 2018 and was produced by ForteBowie. It’s part of his debut album 4275 as he pairs up with Trey Songz. The two of them prove to be a great duo together and this serves as their first collaborative effort.

It’s another song in Jacquees catalog that shows the potential he has and it’s clear that when his album drops, he’ll blow up into a bigger figure in the music industry.

6. MIA ft Birdman

“MIA” was released on November 16, 2018 and features rapper Birdman. Part of the collaborative Lost At Sea 2 project. Lost At Sea 2, is a follow-up to their 2016 project Lost At Sea.

“Let’s take a ride down Ocean/Girl we could slide to the fifteen,” Jacquees sings on the smooth track. “Go get some breakfast at the Big Pink/Girl it’s a vibe when you with me!” Although there is no verse from Birdman he features with a few ad-libs.

7. Presidential ft Birdman

“Presidential” was released on November 12, 2018. It is the first track on the Lost At Sea 2 album part of a collaborative project with Birdman.

8. London

“London” was released on June 15, 2018. Produced by Nash B the single is the latest release off the Cash Money crooner’s stellar debut album 4275.

Jacquees previously recorded the song in London, and by the request of many fans, he returned to the U.K. to shoot the music video directed by MGMTMMG.

Jacquees released “Hold You Down” on January 15, 2015 and was produced by Yak Beats.

“23” was released on June 15, 2018 and was produced by Donell Jones. This is the fourth song of Jacquees debut studio album,4275.

Conclusion

Jacquees has been facing a bit of backlash after claiming to be the “King of R&B,” and has even had to issue an apology to legendary singer Keith Sweat for his comments.

In addition to the King of R&B backlash, a petition to stop the singer from doing any more covers of popular songs has amassed nearly 45,000 signatures since its creation by a man named Ricky Fields

Covers Jacquees has delivered include Soul 4 Real’s “Candy Rain” and Michael Jackson’s “Dirty Diana,” as well as his cover cover of Ella Mai’s “Trip.” The latter remix was surrounded by controversy after her label, 10 Summers, had his remix removed on all streaming platforms.
