Goodnite Robicheaux is a duo to be talked about. With their intense lyrics and their funky instrumentals, they are a force to be reckoned with.
“Every Time,” the first single off their new album, The Green Line, is a mid tempo, guitar and piano driven cry with soul and raw emotion that tackles the other side of addiction. The side where you come to terms with the hand that you’ve been dealt. The lyrics candidly offer up the hopes and wishes of those with an emotional need often ignored. For the many people that come into these situations differently, it doesn’t mean they don’t want out. Many just don’t know how to go about getting over their biggest struggle of all, their own weakness.
A slap for the broken, “Every Time” is mellow. It hits you right in the feels. When you hear the declaration of taking what you can get “Every Time” the song drives that concept deeper and deeper into your subconscious as they repeat “Every Time.” That is a statement. Every Time. Every. Time. I challenge you to listen to the hook and forget “Every Time.” Not gonna happen.
When asked about “Every Time” Jamison said, “It’s not wrong to be yourself. It’s not wrong to be different. It’s not wrong to know what you want out of life and go for it. Hopes, dreams, wishes…is it wrong to want to be better than who you know you are?”
