Möses & the Løng Legged Emüs-2

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself?

Howdie partners, We’re Aaron Rogers and Dylan Swindell and Möses & The Løng Legged Emüs is our brainchild.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

Well we both been big music nerds since we were wee lads and after seeing Pearl Jam back in 2013, that seemed to spark a fire in us that has yet to go out.

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

This song, “Symptoms of the Night” is a single off our upcoming sophomore album “Songs for the Faint of Heart”. Unlike our first album, this song along with the others off the album are alittle more polished around the edges. Our first album, “Love Kills, Sex Sells”, was our attempt at making an album that had no strings attached and where we just wrote, recorded, mixed, and released, and we did just that all in just 12 days. So with that, you can hear all the imperfections that we were aiming for, and that comes with making an entire album in under 2 weeks. We did this on purpose to sort of cleanse ourselves and just have fun and not worry about the little thing for once. But, with this single and the upcoming album, we spent more time on the things we didn’t on the first album. So the end result is a product is more clean and rounded, for lack of better terms.

What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?

With Möses, we strive to make music any way we want to. Total artistic control. After spending time in numerous bands and projects, we found ourselves getting pigeonholed into one genre and just getting bogged down with our “image” and “sound”. Möses was formed to never fall into that hole again. Each album and EP we release will be different in some way. With that being the overall sound, the way we tracked, and the style. By going by this standard, we hope to achieve a fan base that is always receiving new and exciting music  And for us to be happy and fulfilled overall as musicians and creators.

Do you play any instruments? And why do you love it?

Both of us are multi-instrumentalists. We play everything on the albums with the exceptions of some songs who feature our friends.

Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

Our biggest influences hands down are: Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, Queens of the Stone Age, The Killers, Biffy Clyro, Texas Gentlemen, and the Black Keys.

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

Releasing the first album was probably our proudest. It came organic and that’s the way it left. We’re proud that we finally found our groove in something.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

Well that’s an easy one being that we also own a recording studio, Bison Tail Studios. So working isn’t really work for us.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Keep on keeping on chief. Be true to yourself and your music and don’t be somebody you’re not. You’ll Find yourself being way happier and fulfilled.

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

Please keep on supporting us and following our social media and liking our post as stupid as they may be. That’s the only way we can stomach doing social media. Keep playing our tunes and supporting us any way you can.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects?

We have this single out along be with another, “This Time (Into Flames)” and one more on the way and then after that, we’ll be releasing the album. After that we’re planning on doing a Acoustic EP then our third album which will be aiming more in the direction of a vintage raw sound. Then we have some other projects cooking up but we don’t want to spoil all of it.
